Privacy policy

This explains what we collect when you use alvarostyle.com, why we collect it, and how to get rid of it. We are a small UAE business, not an advertising company — we collect what it takes to get a pair of shoes to your door and to understand whether our shop works.

What we collect

• To fulfil an order: your name, phone number, email address and delivery address, plus what you bought.
• When you contact us: whatever you send us, including WhatsApp messages and photos of sizes or faults.
• Automatically as you browse: pages and products viewed, what went into a cart, and whether an order was completed. This is recorded on our own servers.
• Technical details: approximate device and browser information. We store no plain IP addresses — where an address is needed to tell visits apart, it is hashed first and cannot be read back.

We never see or store full card numbers. Cash-on-delivery orders involve no card at all.

Why we collect it

To take and deliver your order, to answer your messages, to honour exchanges and warranty claims, to keep the accounts and stock records a business is required to keep, and to see which parts of the shop help people buy and which get in the way.

Who it is shared with

• Delivery couriers — your name, address and phone number, because a pair cannot arrive without them.
• Our email provider — to send order confirmations, dispatch notices and, if you asked for them, occasional updates.
• Analytics and advertising platforms — once you have agreed to them, tools from Meta and Google set cookies in your browser and receive event data about your visit. Any personal detail sent to them is hashed before it leaves our servers, so they receive an irreversible fingerprint rather than your email or phone number.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else without your consent unless the law requires it.

Cookies

The site needs a small number of cookies to work — to remember your bag between pages, and to remember the answer you give to the cookie notice. Our own measurement of how the shop is used sets no cookies at all: it uses a session that is discarded when you close the tab, and it goes nowhere but our own systems.

The Meta and Google advertising cookies are the only ones that need your permission, and they are not loaded until you give it. You can change your mind at any time through the Cookie settings link at the foot of any page, or clear and block cookies in your browser; the shop works either way, though your bag may not survive a reload.

How long we keep it

Order and accounting records are kept for as long as UAE law requires. Browsing and funnel data is pruned automatically once it is no longer useful for understanding the shop. Messages are kept while they are relevant to your order or warranty.

Your choices

Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — other than records we are legally obliged to retain, such as completed sales. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in it.
